Our school continues to go from strength to strength and our competition team are a big part of that success!
The team recently competed in the North West Dance Challenge which was held in St George’s Hall, Liverpool and were delighted to have been crowned ‘Champion of Champions’.
Our dancers entered 6 group and 5 solo dances and walked away with an impressive 10 trophies! Amongst the trophies were first places for Lucie Deakin and Emily Aisbitt and third place for Holly Duckworth in the solo sections. In the group section we were lucky to receive 3 firsts, 2 seconds and two special awards for ‘Best Technique’ and ‘Champion of Champions’.
This success comes two weeks after the ‘Four Seasons Festival’ which was held in Darwen, Lancashire. Here the girls competed across the weekend and brought home a whole host of medals and trophies to add to their collection.
It’s not just the competition team who have been enjoying success! We recently held auditions for our Juvenile dancers who have once again been invited to take part in the Liverpool Epstein Theatre production of Peter Pan. 8 girls were selected to represent our school and have commenced rehearsals with LHK Productions. The pantomime takes place throughout December.
The school is delighted to be able to give all our pupils a variety of performance opportunities and our dancers are looking forward to performing as part of a charity show in aid of The Owen McVeigh Foundation. This Foundation has been set up in memory of Owen McVeigh who was only 11 years old when he passed away after a short diagnosis with leukaemia, The purpose of the charity is to raise funds to help and enrich the lives of children who are ill with cancer and their Families in the local area. The performance takes place on Tuesday 28th November in St helens Town Hall and promises to be a wonderful evening. Our school will be performing a selection of dances from our summer show and will share the stage with dancers from local dance schools – North Liverpool Dance Academy, Pirouette, Finesse, Impact and Theatreworks.
